El Carmen
Old town with narrow medieval streets, lots of nightlife and the cathedral round the corner. A bit touristy.
Benimaclet
Local, low-key, with a strong UV student presence. Great value rents and direct metro to the centre.
Algirós
Right next to the UV main campus. Lots of student halls and budget flats.
Cabanyal
Beachside former fishing district being revived. Authentic, with the sand a 10-minute walk away.
Camins al Grau
Modern residential area near UPV. Quieter, more flat-share friendly, easy bike access to campus.
Getting around
Transport
Valencia is flat and bike-paradise — Valenbisi rents bikes for €30/year and the city has 160 km of cycle lanes. The metro and EMT bus network is small but efficient. The Mètro-Bus pass for under-30s is €20 for 30 days. UV main campus is in Algirós (line 3 metro); UPV is right next to it in Camins al Grau.
