La Merced
Wrapped around the UMU city campus. The most student-dense area in Murcia, with the nightlife to match.
Murcia is a warm, compact and genuinely cheap student city in the Spanish southeast. Two universities give it a large student population relative to its size, the historic centre is small enough to cross on foot, and the Costa Cálida beaches are half an hour away.

Residential and quiet, a short walk from the centre. A favourite with students who want to actually sleep.
The historic core around the cathedral. Everything on your doorstep, small flats, higher rents.
Home to the main UMU campus, just outside the city. Cheapest rents and a frequent bus into town.
Across the river Segura, next to the train station. Well connected and good value.
Modern residential blocks on the southern ring. Newer buildings, more space for the money.
Murcia is small and flat, and most students walk. A single tram line links the centre with the Espinardo campus and the north of the city, and the urban bus network covers the rest. Cartagena — home to the UPCT — is about 50 minutes away by train or bus. The city's bike-lane network is extensive thanks to the flat terrain.
