Centro
Around Plaza Mayor and the university buildings. Everything walkable and the liveliest area at night.
Valladolid is the capital of Castilla y León and a classic Spanish university city: the Universidad de Valladolid was founded in the 13th century and its faculties are scattered through the centre, so student life and city life are the same thing. Rents are low, the centre is flat and walkable, and Madrid is an hour away by high-speed train.

North of the centre and traditionally the student neighbourhood. Some of the cheapest rooms in the city.
South, by the railway. Working-class, affordable, well connected by bus.
Modern district on the west side with newer flats and more space for your money. Bus into the centre.
Quiet and residential across the Pisuerga, near the science faculties. Good middle ground.
The main avenue running south. Well connected, mid-range rents, plenty of shops.
Valladolid is flat and compact, so walking and cycling cover most of student life — the city has a broad bike-lane network. The AUVASA urban bus network reaches the outer districts and the Miguel Delibes campus. High-speed rail puts Madrid roughly an hour away, which makes weekend trips genuinely practical.
