Centro
Around the UC3M campus and Getafe Central station. Walk to class, and the best-connected part of town.
Getafe is a city in its own right on the southern edge of Madrid, and home to the UC3M Getafe campus — the university's social sciences, law, economics and journalism faculties. Students get noticeably cheaper rents than in central Madrid while staying inside the regional transport zone, with the city centre around 25 minutes away by Cercanías.

Residential and well served by Metro line 12. Good value and a short hop to the campus.
North towards Madrid, next to its own Cercanías stop. Among the cheaper areas.
Quiet and residential with its own station on the Cercanías line into Atocha.
Close to the centre and the campus, mostly older blocks with affordable rooms.
Detached and greener on the far side of the Manzanares. Cheapest, but you will depend on the bus.
Getafe is inside the Madrid regional transport network, so a single Abono Joven — €20/month for under-26s — covers Cercanías, Metro and buses across the whole region. Cercanías lines C-3 and C-4 reach Atocha in roughly 20–25 minutes, and Metro line 12 (MetroSur) circles the southern municipalities. The UC3M campus is in the town centre, so most students walk or cycle to class.
